ISE students can complete PhD and MS research in areas such as human-automation interaction, interaction design, mathematical modeling of human performance, human reliability, industrial safety, workplace design, cognitive engineering, and biomechanics. This master degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics Engineering is offered by the University at Buffalo. ;Sponsored human factors engineering research is funded by such agencies as the U.S. Air Force, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Science Foundation, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the National Institutes of Health, as well as national and local corporations.
