The Systems Design Engineering graduate programs at the University of Waterloo take an innovative, interdisciplinary approach to exploring solutions to engineering problems at the cutting edge of technology and design, offered as a research-based Master of Applied Science (MASc, completable in 6 full-time terms) with specialised tracks in Aeronautics and Nanotechnology, or a coursework-based Master of Engineering (MEng) with an optional research project. Waterloo offers Canada's first MASc and PhD programs in Nanotechnology, a jointly-offered interdisciplinary program spanning three Science departments and four Engineering departments.
