Additionally, they provide online technical and further education (TAFE) courses as well as a higher education nursing program in Horsham. With its roots dating back to the Victorian gold rush in 1870, Federation University is one of the oldest tertiary education institutions in Australia. In 2013, the university underwent a merger between the University of Ballarat and Monash University's Gippsland campus, resulting in a name change to Federation University in 2014.
