JEE Advanced 2026 paper wrapped up recently, and if Math left you sweating, you weren’t alone.

Paper 1 was rated moderate to highly challenging, with Mathematics emerging as the longest and toughest section, Physics demanding deep conceptual clarity, and Chemistry proving tricky. Paper 2 was described as highly conceptual and time-intensive, particularly in Mathematics, which many students found very tough.

The Mathematics section ranged from moderate to difficult, with questions on definite integration, differential equations, vectors, 3D geometry, matrices, probability, complex numbers, and sequences. Coaching institutes observed that from each new topic, two questions were asked.

Chemistry emerged as the most balanced and scoring section, with NCERT-based Organic and Inorganic questions helping well-prepared candidates.

GradRight Insight: Don’t panic over difficulty, cutoffs adjust accordingly. For 2026, the expected minimum qualifying marks are around 93–100 for General category, 83–90 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and 46–51 for SC/ST/PwD candidates out of 360 total.

Start planning your IIT strategy now, your rank matters more than your raw score.
