The university has a rich history, originally established as The Bullock School for Boys in 1821 in Wilmington. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, including The Alsop School for Boys and Hyatt's Select School for Boys. In 1859, the institution became Delaware Military Academy and later moved to Pennsylvania, where it became Chester County Military Academy. In 1892, the name changed to Pennsylvania Military College and finally adopted the name Widener University in 1972. The university offers a wide range of degree programs, including associate, baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. Its academic offerings span various disciplines, from traditional liberal arts to professional programs.
