The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is a public university located in Greeley, Colorado. With a rich history in teacher education, UNC was originally established in 1889 as the State Normal School of Colorado. Over the years, the university underwent several name changes, including Colorado State College of Education and Colorado State College, before adopting its current name in 1970. UNC offers a diverse range of academic programs across its six colleges. In addition to its main campus in Greeley, the university also has extended campus locations in Loveland, Denver/Aurora, and Colorado Springs. UNC's athletic teams, consisting of 19 teams, compete in NCAA Division I as members of the Big Sky Conference.
