Wolverhampton, United Kingdom
The University of Wolverhampton has a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. It was originally founded as the Wolverhampton Tradesmen's and Mechanics' Institute in 1827 and later saw the growth of the Wolverhampton Free Library in 1870. These institutions offered a range of classes, including technical, scientific, commercial, and general courses. In 1969, the Wolverhampton Polytechnic was formed through the merger of these institutions with the Municipal School of Art, which was established in 1851. Today, the university is spread across multiple campuses in the West Midlands, Shropshire, and Staffordshire regions of England.
