1. Government of Ireland – International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES)
The Government of Ireland – International Education Scholarships was launched as a means to generate awareness about Ireland among potential international students. A total of 60 scholarships are funded by the government of Ireland annually.
A total of 10,000 Euros is awarded to each student annually (student costs + living expenses).
Eligibility and requirements for the GOI-IES
- Only non-EU/EEA country residents are eligible for this scholarship.
- Students pursuing: the final year of an undergraduate program, one year of a taught master’s program, or one year of a research program, are eligible
- A candidate for the GOI-IES must possess academic excellence
- Communication skills and extracurricular activities are essential for the candidate’s profile
- Presenting a personal statement will be necessary to explain; benefits derived from the GOI-IES scholarship, potential to participate in and contribute to Irish society, aims and goals for Ireland as future Alumni.
- The candidate must be able to enunciate his rationale behind pursuing an education in Ireland to obtain the GOI-IES scholarship
- Two references/letters of recommendation will be necessary.

2. Fulbright Scholarships
Indian students, along with most other international students, are eligible to apply for the Fulbright Scholarship in Ireland. Obtaining a Fulbright scholarship is not only beneficial financially, but also enhances your credibility as a student in the longer run.
In Ireland, six categories of Fulbright scholarships are offered to international students:
Open Study/Research Award
The accepted degree level for this award is a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D.

3. Centenary Scholarship Program
The Dublin Institute of Technology has launched the Centenary Scholarship Programme. The program is open to students from Brazil, China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the USA.
The scholarship provides 50% tuition fee coverage, for a period of one year.
The candidates must be pursuing a Masters degree in one of the following four areas:
- Arts and Tourism
- Business
- Engineering & Built Environment
- Sciences and Health
4. Central Bank Of Ireland Undergraduate Scholarships For International Students
The Central Bank of Ireland Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students functions in alliance with Griffith College. This scholarship enables you to opt for a fully funded part-time honors degree.
Applicants must be enrolled in either of the following part-time degree courses:
- BA (Hons) in Business Studies
- BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance
This scholarship is unique as it not only covers the tuition fee for the degree courses but also offers a four-year employment contract at the Bank of Ireland to successful applicants. Yes, you heard that right.
Eligibility for the CBIUS Scholarship
- You have completed your Leaving Certificate
- You have obtained a minimum of two honor grades (H5s)
- You have obtained a minimum of four ordinary level grades (O6)
- You have yet to start or finish a QQI level 7 degree program.
5. The Walsh Fellowships
The Walsh Fellowship aids the growth of the Agricultural Advisory and Educational Services in the public and private sectors of Ireland. The following program options will be available to you as a candidate:
- Masters (MAgrSc) in Agricultural Innovation Support
- Masters (MAgrSc) in Agricultural Extension
Up to 50 scholarships are offered annually. The scholarships are offered at Ph.D. levels, specifically to graduates undertaking research in:

The maximum award given out by the Walsh Fellowship is 24,000 Euros annually, for four years. You must note that non-research postgraduate students are not eligible for this scholarship.

The NUI Galway Scholarship is a merit-based program, offering partial fee waivers to students. Students who have accepted an offer from the NUI Galway University are eligible for this award.
The awards for UG programs range from 1000 Euros to 4000 Euros.

The Trinity College Dublin Scholarship was specially crafted to assist international students of limited means. The scholarships are offered to students from across the globe.
The total value of the amount offered varies for each scholarship. However, it ranges from 5400 Euros to 10,800 Euros.

3. Maynooth University Scholarship
The Maynooth University provides international students various scholarships, for both Masters and Bachelors programs:

The scholarship award ranges from 1000 Euros to 4000 Euros.

4. University College Cork Excellence Scholarship (Ph.D.)
The University College Cork offers 5 sustaining excellence scholarships to Ph.D. students enrolled in Employment-based Ph.D. programs. The students must be enrolled in the College of Science, Engineering, and Food Science (SEFS) at the University.
Eligibility for the University College Cork Excellence Scholarship (Ph.D.)
- Must have Second Class Honors Grade I (or above) in an honors-level primary degree
- Must be registered in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science (SEFS)
- Must comply with all other requirements for Ph.D. students in the University
The University will cover the registration fee of the applicant and award 5000 Euros annually.
5. The University of Limerick
The University of Limerick provides scholarships for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. Students belonging to non-EU countries are eligible to apply. The scholarships are partial, and merit-based in nature.
In order to avail of a scholarship at the University of Limerick, you must enroll in your program in September.
The University of Limerick awards a maximum of 10,000 Euros annually. The total amount gets deducted from a student’s tuition fee. However, the tuition fee is subject to review annually.
